License to Heaven

Today happens to be "Vaikuntha Ekadashi".It only means that if you die today, you get a direct pass into heaven, irrespective of your sins.Well, what if you orchestrated your own death and made sure it occurred today? Like suicide- Does that still put you in heaven?
And i remember how the Municipality authorities had poisoned Simba, our street dog,on one of those "Vaikuntha Ekadashi" days.Lanky and off-white,he used to guard Sonu all the time.No other dogs could trouble Sonu during his walks.Simba would stalk Sonu and made sure other mongrels did not pick on him.He would even accompany us to the bus stand nearby when he had to catch a bus.He would leave only after we'd alighted the bus.For all his good deeds,he sure did land in Heaven. But another person i remember dying on "Vaikuntha Ekadashi" was Saddam Hussein. After months of trials-they decide to execute him.And what a day they picked-"Vaikuntha Ekadashi"!!!!The bugger landed straight into heaven from a spider hole! How ironic...

Nice one! At least with the death of saddam, the "death day" concept should be buried forever.

All dogs go to heaven.

Irrespective of the Vaikunta Ekadashi BS!

Saddam's execution coincided with Vaikunta Ekadasi? I did not know this! :) Funny though, when you think of his situation. He follows a totally different religion but lands there because of ekadasi ;)
Anyway, the fasting also happens with the intention of reaching heaven right?
