Heart of Gold

This is a pic by French photographer Yann Arthus Bertrand.Its from a series of photographs called 'Earth from above'.Regards to my mum-for pointing out this superb pic in the newspaper.Its actually a heart shaped clearing in the tropical forests of the Amazon river basin.Frankly speaking i was dumbfounded when i first saw this pic.Its so perfectly carved out that you would find it hard to believe that it was not custom made,just to be photographed.Every time you beam with pride over a newly acquired vehicle,or boast of our nation's industrial progress-think of all such beautiful forests which are chopped away,heart shaped or not,to make way for man's desires.It isn't justified that we build our dream houses,destroying some fellow being's habitat.So every time you have a chance to make a difference,take the initiative.Remember,the Earth does have a heart-like you and me,somewhere deep down in the forests of S.America.
